As we discussed in class there are sites available where you can do your observations that are not in classrooms. I posted those here to the blog at the beginning of the semester and you can find the detailed posts again the week of September 7th.
Another opportunity is Central Kentucky Riding for Hope. They have evening sessions and day sessions that you can observe. The main number you would call to schedule observations is 231-7066.

The Other Sister
Watch the movie, The Other Sister. We witness Carla's transition to adulthood. Give an
example of how the movie portrays each of the following:
self-determination (p. 110), learned helplessness (p. 110), and
person-centered planning (p. 110).

and what environment(s) they would best be used in.

Watch this movie, The Other Sister. Consider the aspects of the text that relate to specific types of skills. On pages 87 & 88, the definition of intellectual disability is discussed. What examples did Carla demonstrate of a conceptual skill, a social skill and a practical skill? Explain how your example meets the definition of each type of skill.
