I like how it is encouraged that family get involved in their child's education. I also like how the siblings are considered. Because when family gets involved with the child's education it helps them to grow and learn the skills they will need later in life also it shows the child they have support. Also with the sibling topic, especially when both children are young they don't understand why "bubby" or "sissy" get to act the way they do without consequence.
Now to the passive involvement in education, there are times when parents are going to be crazy busy and can't get involved as much or at all. So they will make adjustments if they can but some can't and teachers do need to try and understand.
Also looking at the cultural aspect of things for families. So sometimes based on a family's culture they are less involved in their child's education. But also like it mentions in the book the Latino culture is very laid back and could handle having a child with disabilities.
