Family and Culture
I believe that the parents of a specific student and the students teacher need to work together well. The teacher should understand where the parents are coming from, if they make a suggestion. And vise versa. Teachers and parents should try to find a way to communicate in a way that benefits the student, because they are both there for the same reason; to help the student succeed. However, the parent has probably been with the student their whole life and knows them better than anyone. Even if the teacher has a plethora of experience in this field, they have yet to have experience with this particular child. So sometimes the teacher should take the parents advice and incorporate it into the classroom. And that goes the same way for the parent. It is a new learning experience with each child that comes through the door, for the teacher. So both sides need to keep an open mind to suggestions. And the teacher should always attempt to keep the family back home as happy as possible.

Both the parents and the teacher have great cards that they can bring to the table. They shouldn't spend time debating with one another. They should be collaborating in a way that will benefit the child's education to a supreme level. I agree with your statement. A teacher must keep in mind that a parent only wants what is best for their child, and vise versa.
