The Other Sister Post #1, Self Determination

In "The Other Sister", Carla expressed self determination all throughout her life. She went away to her "special school", and came back and had to adapt to living in her own home. She was faced with many transitions quickly after she came back. She was determined to go to high school, and she did. Not only did she just attend the high school but she succeeded against everyone's beliefs. She then moved out of her family's home and into her own apartment. She showed a self-determination to get to that point, and pushed herself to be able to live on her own because that's what she wanted and she worked through any obstacles to get where she wanted to be.
