In the movie, The Other Sister, Carla demonstrates conceptual, social, and practical skills throughout many different parts in the movie. As far as conceptual skills go Carla demonstrated those by taking lettered beads and spelling out the names of her family members and her old teacher and then making necklaces out of the lettered beads. Another example of conceptual skills shown by Carla was her decision to plan her own wedding. She wanted her wedding day to be special and wanted to plan it herself, using her creativity skills Carla planned her wedding day exactly how she wanted it to be  with no regards to her mother's wishes. Carla demonstrated a social skill when she was talking to Daniel at the dance after he realized that he had failed his class, she automatically knew he was upset and tried to comfort and encourage him. Another example of a social skill demonstrated within the movie is when she goes to register for classes at college and she sees that people are cutting in front of Daniel in line and she tells them to stop and that it is not fair! Practical skills were also shown throughout the film an example of a practical skill that Carla demonstrated would be that she was able to find her way back to her old school when she got upset at home and decided to runaway she knew exactly how to get back to her old school where she felt most comfortable. Another example of a practical skill shown in the film would be when Carla got her own apartment, this step in life allowed her to grow as an individual and made her realize that she is responsible now that she is essentially on her own.
