The Other Sister: Carla's Support

Two examples of supports that Carla had in the movie are her sisters and her boyfriend, Daniel. Her sisters are examples of strong and supportive advocates that were there to push her towards her goals as well as to speak on her behalf in a positive manner when opposing forces, (her mother), was wanting to do something that Carla was against. Having advocates are extremely important in assisting her with reaching her goals, encouraging her to do whatever she wanted, and speaking out regarding her when she was unable to do so. This support can be used in all environments and in any situation given. Daniel, also a young adult with disabilities, is an example of a support that no one else could be to Carla, they were alike and understood each other. Daniel, in my opinion had a higher severity of disabilities, was able to connect with Carla over their struggles they both faced. This type of support is also one that can be in all environments and in any situation because it gives support that is unlike any other. Daniels support to Carla and vice versa opened a window of full acceptance, understanding, and dependability that everyone needs at some point in their life.
